Hello, friendly organic based life form!
I’m a two time graduate of the 3D Animation and Visual Effects program at The Vancouver Film School, 2010 and 2012 (the extra year to hone my craft and also get my hands on my shiny new OPEN WORK PERMIT! That’s right, I’m just as employable as any Canadian now) specializing in character animation, but I have experience in all aspects of 3D. Before VFS I studied 3D animation as a generalist at The Animation School in Cape Town, South Africa.
I am extremely passionate about my industry and the vibrant culture surrounding it. To keep me busy while I wait for you to hire me (yes, YOU), I’m working on my own video game based web-comic and blog, while also teaching myself how to paint digitally (the results of which will be posted in this site’s blog section from time to time)
Initially I wanted to be a comic book artist (my geekery knows no bounds), but once I learned how to make my creations move it was hook, line and sinker from that point on. I have never felt more fulfilled than when I am creating something with equally inspired fellow artists that I know will move and entertain an audience.
Life is beautiful! :)
Below you will find my latest animated short, Heist, a pulp-noir inspired tribute to all the pop culture I love. It’s basically a retro-themed intro segment showing off my character Knave, a master thief with a fiendish side.
And here’s my first student film (and winner of the 2011 VFS Storyteller Impact Award) from back in 2010, Night Of The Zombie Chicken!
Please feel free to peruse the rest of the site. There’s a nifty Gallery section, an ongoing blog containing my works, old and new and an industry peers page called Friendly Friends – a great place to find other artists whom I can easily recommend as talented individuals and competent professionals.
You are more than welcome to drop me some feedback via firstname.lastname@example.org, I would love to hear from you!
